CAT GROOMING

Cats, whether short haired or long-haired, groom themselves by licking and paw-rubbing their coat all over. However, especially in NZ where there are four seasons, the degree of coat growth and moulting varies from one season to the next and most cats cannot cope to groom themselves to get rid of the coat. The result can be problematic. Hair can be ingested and form into hairballs and if cats fail to regurgitate them, it can get stuck in their esophagus or block their intestines, causing more problems.

Owners have the responsibility to brush out the coat of their cat. However, most owners have no time to do this or are too afraid.

This is where we come to the rescue. Mats that form on a long haired cat can cause skin irritation and infection. We groom cats by dematting, deshedding, or shaving down the coat.

We do not sedate the cat but we groom in between short intervals of rest so the cat won’t get too stressed out. Cats have very short “placid” attention and we have to work hurriedly to take advantage of this calmness.

I have been involved in the showing and breeding of persian cats for more than 20 years running. Thus, i already know how to execute a proper grooming of long-haired cat breeds.

We offer the highest quality of cat care and work hard to achieve the results to your contentment. We bring decades of experience to our business while observing compassion, patience and safety to your beloved cat. As we never sedate cats, we go the extra distance with cat grooming. We love and respect our feline friends as we own cats too!

Most cats abhor the water but with the right touch, caress, and giving them a sense of security, they soon tolerate this pampering experience. Come talk to us about your cat’s distinct needs.
